Schuyler!!
Wdyt of Skyler/Schuyler?If I were to use Schuyler, do you think itd be IMPOSSIBLE to spell/say for non name nerds?Skyler seems like the easier bet, yeah? But I 100% prefer Schuyler and the SO is on board with it. Wdyt of Schuyler Marcel?

I dislike Skyler, because it looks very hippy-ish, but Schuyler is one of the few surname names I like. I don't think it would be very difficult to spell, you'd have to correct people every once in a while, but not to the point of annoyance. I don't like the flow of Schuyler Marcel, they seem to nearly rhyme.

I love Schuyler for either gender. I prefer this traditional spelling, it makes the name look more classic, noble and scholarly like the meaning. Still sounds familiar, so it does not scream "snob". I like Skyler, too, but not as much. The spelling is not intuitive for many English and non-English speakers, but I don't see it as a big deal. Variant spellings are getting more and more common. It's no worse than Kaylee / Kayleigh / Kailey.Edit: Marcel is handsome and underrated, but it's a bit of a mouthful with Schuyler. Your don't say your full name out loud very often, though. So that should be fine.

It’s a bit of a perpetual toddler name. I know they exist, but I have a hard time picturing a grown man named Schuyler. A lawyer or salesman in a suit with greying hair, a bit of a paunch and a five-o’-clock shadow? I just can’t make it fit in my mind.If you go with it I’m 100% behind using the traditional spelling though.

I don't think it's THAT hard. Use Schuyler. It looks so much better.

I like Schuyler, because of actor Michael J. Fox named one of his twins Schuyler Frances. Her twin's name is Aquinnah Kathleen, older brother Sam Michael and younger sister, Esme Annabelle, which I also love. I find it fine on both genders. I like it more on a girl.
Skyler and Skylar are cool as well, but I like Schuyler more.
Im not a fan of Schuyler Marcel, it doesn't sound well together, sorry.
I think Schuyler would cause confusion and your child might have to spell it out, overall, I pronounce it like Sky-ler or Shy-ler.

Schuyler Marcel seems very masculineif this combo is meant for a girl, then BtN can just go ahead and turn all the male names into unisex ones...

Exactly! Its 100% for a boy!!

It’s one of my favorites but there’s probably not many fans here. I prefer Schuyler on a boy - I like your combo. I like Skyler for a girl. I don’t think it’s impossible - but it’d be tricky at first because, thinking of “Schmidt,” some may say “SHY-ler.” But others will get it because they’ve heard the last name Schuyler before (that’s how I knew right away).

I don't think most people would automatically spell "sky-ler" that way, and they might not read Schuyler correctly the first time, but they should be able to take direction. The only "sky-ler" I've met (we went to middle school together) spelled his name Schuyler, and I remembered the spelling easily because I thought it was weird. Schuyler is obviously a surname-as-first name, which makes it seem fancier than other versions, and I do prefer it.
Skyler looks to me like a variation of Sky, Skye, Kyler, Tyler. I'd rather just see Sky / Skye, I dislike Kyler, and I hate Tyler.

It could be a head scratcher for those who don't recognize it. Even I myself who already know how it's supposed to be pronounced always default to "SHOO-ler" on instinct whenever I see it.I actually would like it more if it were pronounced that way, 'SKIE-ler' doesn't appeal to me, but at least Schuyler looks less trendy.

I like Schuyler. Not my favorite, but I like it. Definitely smart-sounding. Though, yes, it would be pretty hard to spell, but you can spell it as Schyler to make spelling it a bit easier. Schuyler Marcel is pretty neat.
