I love Adelaide, but I think I would only use it as a middle name personally. It’s the name of a school in my district so it’s the first thing that pops into my head. I don’t think it will be dated because it’s not even that popular.

I think the style of name might become dated, if that makes any sense, but not the name itself. A name needs to be way more widely used than Adelaide is to become dated. I like the name. It's not a favorite, but it's similar in style to a lot of names that are favorites. I like the nickname Aidy, though I made a post about it a few years back and I think everyone who replied hated it.

To me Adelaide is regal and elegant. It's classic, but still usable and grows with the owner.I don't think it will be dated soon.

I’m always torn about Adelaide. I disliked it when I first heard it and tried to understand why someone would use it (lol). This led me to actually start liking it but I still find it strange. Most of the Adelaides I’ve heard of are younger so I don’t think of an older person at first. So I personally don’t view it as a dated name, whether it is or isn’t. It still sounds fresh to me.

I love Adelaide. It's on our short list if we have kids. It's elegant and familiar, yet unexpected. It also comes with lots of great nicknames and has a positive meaning.I don't think it's going to be dated soon because it's nowhere near popular enough.

I absolutely love the elegance of Adelaide, though the city in Australia makes me hesitate to use it. It MIGHT be dated soon with the rise of Evelyn, Genesis, Maddisyn, etc. If you want a more youthful variant, try Adelais.

I don't think it'll be dated anytime soon. It's a previously old-fashioned name that has only recently returned to the Top 1000 (in the U.S.) - it doesn't even chart anywhere else besides France and Italy! No, Adelaide is just getting started.

I don't like it, it's a city here too, prefer Adeline

I don't like it, just because I don't like how it sounds. I hear "delayed" and "addle" and "laid."
I would like Adelaida, Ad-uh-LIE-duh. And I love Ada.
The only Addie name that I don't dislike, is Adelina.... because it doesn't have the addle sound.
Adelaide sounds antique to me, so more like a fad-antique name, like Penelope, Hazel, Mabel - not popular enough to become really dated.
But I do think the trend for Addie names is probably starting its decline.

I like it, but I can't help but hear it in a generic Australian accent. Not to say that there's anything wrong with an Australian accent, I just don't seem to be able to separate it from the place.I can't see it becoming dated, but it isn't as popular here as it is in the USA.
