Not keen on the meaning. Sound is ok. It’s interesting, but I think I would actually prefer Blaze to be honest for the English word (which I find gender neutral).

I like Blaise. It's a cool Saint name. I appreciate both long A sounds and 1 syllable names. I met 3 under 4 in a small geographic area and within a couple week time span so it honestly feels a little trendy to me, but I know that in reality it's rather unusual.

I’ve actually liked Blaise for a while now. I think it sounds very fresh and youthful, but not in a preppy or trendy way. Much better than Blaine.Only for a boy, though. If you want a feminine substitute, I would go for Blair (or Blaire).
