I was surprised when friends named their son Carl in 1981, as it seemed dated by that time.
I don't see the appeal. There are worse names, but many that are much much better IMO.

I like it. For some reason, I prefer the look of Karl. It just looks more youthful to me, and I have no idea why.
I used to like it but not so much anymore.
