It's the name of my FIL, I can see it having a come back around the time my nieces start having kids.

I think it's very handsome. I can see why it was popular at one time, and I think that it's unfortunate that it's disliked because it gets thrown into the "dated" pile. (In some cases, I mean. I'm sure there were people back in the day who didn't like it and not everyone who dislikes it now does so because it's dated.) But I suppose that's just part of the World of Names and it's useless to object to it.

In spite of being my nephew's name, I find it bland and spineless. I far prefer Gareth, and would use it IRL.

Nephew is Gary Bruce; not sure where Bruce came from, but he's Gary because of having a golfing father who admires Gary Player.
