I'd pick Margaret. Both names are not really my style but Margaret seems to have many pleasant nicknames to choose from (Meg, Mag, Greta, or May, as you indicate). I personally would shy away from Lucinda because she would inevitably be called Lucy, and I really, really dislike the name/nn Lucy (goosy), despite the fact the Lucinda seems prettier as a full name.

Prefer Lucinda. I like Margaret too, but Meg is my preferred nn. Either name is nice, but Lucinda is a little more unusual.

Margaret, nn May

Lucinda but not Louie as a nn. Louie is prn. like Louis, a boy name... Why not Loulou, Lulu, Sissi, Lucy...

I prefer Lucinda. I dislike the NN Louie though, I'd go with Cindy.

I prefer Lucinda over Margaret and I prefer May over Louie. Why don´t you call her Lucy or Cinda or something as a nickname ?

Between Lucinda and Margaret, I would choose Lucinda. I love the name Lucinda. But between Louie and May, I'd have to choose May.Personally, I'd go with Lucinda, but with a different nick. I prefer May as a full name on its own anyway.

I personally prefer Margaret.
May is a bit more appealing to me than Louie.
Louie is cute for very familiar address; as a regular short form though, because it's so often a masculine name, it seems too casual - almost disrespectful - to me for everyone to call Lucinda that. (Sort of like my great grandmother Frances Robertson being called Fanny by most people, and called Robbie only by the family.) FWIW, I would nickname a Lucinda: Lu, and a Margaret: Maggie. - chazda
