Cary/Carey (masculine)
What are your thoughts on Cary, or Carey? And how do you pronounce them, and where are you from? Thank you in advance!

I like Cary. I'd pronounce it like care-y, same as I'd pronounce Carrie. I knew a male Cary my age (we were in 4th grade together) and one of the moms in my mom group has a baby boy named Cary.

Pronounced like care, with a y on the end. I think of it as a surname. I've never seen it used as a fn in South Africa, but stranger things have happened.

Sorry I prefer it for a girl, Cah Rey, I'm from Australia

I’m not sure why you’re apologising, I’m asking about it as a boys’ name :)

I’m from the United States in the Midwest. I pronounce them both the same, which is how I’d also pronounce Carrie or Kari, like the word care + E. I see it as feminine with all spellings.

Interesting, that’s how I pronounce Cary and Carey but not Carrie and Kari. Thanks!

I dislike it as masculine. I'm barely neutral on it (or Carrie) as feminine.I knew a Kerry growing up. I think it sounds whiny, kind of like Tyler or Taylor does to me, except older.
Or it's like Wesley, except unisex and without the benefit of Wes.I pronounce Cary / Carey / Kerry / Keri / Carrie as kair-ee (kair rhyming with bear). I'm from the US.
