Yes. My name is Jessica-Kate and I grew up being called Jessie until high school when it somehow got shortened to Jess. While I still prefer and think of myself as Jessie, I find it hard to introduce myself as anything other than Jess.

I'm glad that my name is slightly different so that I'm not just another Jessica but if my name was legally Jessie then it would still be less common than Jessica and maybe I would find it easier to identify myself as Jessie, are least sometimes.
