I used to really like it when I was younger and I still like to hear it but it's a bit more "meh" to me now, especially when I consider that a Melody would just become another "Mel".

I peeked at the popularity stats and it's rising. It doesn't surprise me, it fits in with the current trends.I love it as well, although it does have a 1970s vibe to it. That was when it first peaked.

I'm not big on word names in general, and Melody is not one I'd ever choose - I'd rather have a Melanie round the house than a Melody who might well turn out clumsy, plain and tone-deaf.I taught a Melody Miller once. She was dazzlingly beautiful, but not really a nice person and not much of a thinker. One day in class I mentioned that names have meanings, just like other words, and the kids got quite excited! Especially Melody. She jumped up and down, squeaking "What does my name mean, Miss Lastname?" Really! She even played the piano.

I’ve always liked this name. So cute and pretty. Seems to age well.

I don't know if I'd say love, but I really like it.

This name takes me right back to years back when I read the biography of Keith Green. His wife’s name is Melody. Funny how a name can take you back in time. The name seems old fashioned to me yet it would fit perfectly along today’s popular names. I can see it both on a nurse as on a lawyer.

I love it too, but I can't stand the nickname Mel xD SadIn general I love hippy names. I love how happy and kind they sound.

This is what I was going to say. I think Melody is a nice name; I like the music association, plus it just seems like an all-around good name. I like it with the nickname Dee or DeeDee, but I just can't bring myself to like Mel.
