I can only imagine it said in a stereotypical accent of a 1950s mother calling her daughter to tell her dinner's ready.

I loved Nancy as a kid, despite it being a total "Mom name" back then (now... a "Grandma name"?). My main association with it is Nancy Drew.

Nancy is my grandmother's middle name which she goes by. Nancy is a variant of Ann/Anne which we are considering as a middle name.

Nancy was my fav-o-RITE name when I was ten, but now something about it annoys me.

British name expert Leslie Dunkling pointed out years ago how amazing it was that Nancy was a top ten name in the USA between 1935 and 1955 and yet had never revived in the UK at that point.Evidently Nancy is finally beginning to revive in the UK today. Most Americans are going to still think of it as a grandma name since the most typical American Nancy is turning 70 this year.

I love the name Nancy, it’s so pretty. I was named Sarah Kate after a Nancy Kate, she was like my “adopted” grandmother.

Meh, it's ok. This is the name of one of my dad's co-workers.

Only as a nn for Anne.

I dislike it and always have, and knowing nice Nancys didn't help. I think the reason is because it rhymes with fancy.

My grandma is called Annie but goes by Nancy for some reason - it’s even on her passport. I like it but I suppose I am bias so I’m not sure what I would think if it wasn’t her name/nickname.

The only Nancy I have ever known is a British woman who was named Nancy but always went by Nan.I like Nancy very much and would consider using it; I don't think of it as a nn for Anne. And I am very happy that, like Pansy, it has lost its old identity as an insulting nn for a gay man.
