I'm totally down with Billie as a girl's name! My stock combo (for the moment) is Billie Charlotte. My stepmom had an aunt (Grandma's sister) who passed away a while ago, and for years I misheard her name as "Aunt Bea" and thought her name was Beatrice - until I saw a labelled picture of Grandma and her two older sisters, Veneta (technically a half-sister) and Billie Rose. That's when I realized "B" had referred to her first initial. Billie Rose struck me as cutely retro.I have a feeling Billie Eilish will eventually cause the name to trend. Even if people aren't explicitly naming their daughters after her, they'll have heard her name enough that the sound may grow on them.

I don't like it - it feels a bit "we wanted a boy" to me, sounds childish, and is too strongly associated with the Michael Jackson song and Billie Jean King.

I hate it. I hate all boy nicknames on girls. I will say Billie isn't as bad as Willie or Frankie, but it's worse than Bobbie.

I hope not! Especially not as a given name. I don’t really love Wilhelmina either, and I tried doing a *bil* search to see if I could find anything that could make it appeal to me as a nickname. I could not.

I like it and think it will get very popular, a la Billie Eilish.

it will become immensely popular bc of Billie Eilish. I honestly wouldnt be surprised to see it in the top 20 soon.

I like it though :)

I think it's ugly, same as Bobbie and Willie. I grew up with a Billie Jean; she went by BJ.

I suppose it could work as a nn for Wilhelmina or, preferably, Sibyl/Sybil. As a stand-alone name, I hope not! In spite of my admiration for Billie Jean King, it just doesn't appeal.

Sorry don't like for boy or girl. What about Briony or Bronte

Don't like it, not as a full name. And I hope it won't. But nickname names are coming in a bit more, aren't they?
