I would go with Catherine (no nn) or Nora (as the full name). The only girl name I would definitely not use is Beatrix nn Bea - it would sound like "be young".

For boys, I'd choose Theodore nn Teddy or Charles nn Charlie.

Alice, Beatrix and Edith are my faves for girls. Edith is my fave of the three.

Louise nn Lou - I’ve grown to like Louise, it doesn’t really need shortening but Lou is quite sweet

Oscar nn Oz - Oscar is a family name for me and I love it anyway, it’s not too common at the moment in the US but in the UK it’s at 9, Oz or Ozzy are cute nicknames
Theodore nn Teddy, Theo - This is my favourite boys name! I wouldn’t use the nickname Teddy (apart from maybe when they’re younger) but I would use Theo any day, even as a full name
Silas - love it

I don't like Lenny, Freddie, or Alfie at all. I think Silas, Lionel, and Calvin are the most interesting, of the boys' names.
