Florentine makes me think of flourishes or fancy (Florentine) paper, like

I don't like Florentine because it reminds me too much of florentine biscuits. Technically, it's an adjective for things that come from Florence, Italy.

Florence is lovely, and I adore how it combines urban and natural associations, what with the city and the floral meaning. I like Flora too. Florentine, on the other hand, is rather too frilly and complex, so I prefer the former.
