Hi !!!I think that they can't be compared as Marguerite is a full name while Maisie a diminutive.You can compare Marguerite with Mairead or also Maisie with Margot.I agree with you: I like both names but with a different usage. I respect your assertion that you'd rather categorize certain names in a specific, stringent way regarding their derivatives, though I certainly "can" and DO and DID compare Maisie and Marguerite in my prior post! Dictating to other writers what they can and cannot do or say when they are expressing themselves harmlessly is unsupportive. Thanks.
