Prefer Laurel, Laura is fine
Both nice, but I wouldn’t use either. I’d be more likely to use Laurel though out of the two, it’s just a little more different.
I like Laurel, prefer it masculine though (but that's because of the Laurel and Hardy association)
Laura while okay, it's actually quite common where I live. Knew one too many Laura's myself. Every single one of them have been strangely tall girls, brown hair, and shy and/or prefers one's self to the company of others. I noticed that 3 Laura's in and it's still a trend I've noticed so it's a pretty strong image I have tied to it I must say.

All the Lauras I know are like that too!
Laura is nice in a girl next door way. It is solid and familiar but a bit dated.
Laurel feels fresher. I have mixed feelings about the repeating L, but I associate the name with sunshine and spring green.

Love Laura, Laurel is ok, I'd prefer Lauren, 2nd to Laura, the Laurel 3rd
Laurel isn't awful but it doesn't roll out of the mouth smoothly and is kinda like the word rural, which I hate for that very reason.
I like Laura a lot, it's at home just about anywhere. But I prefer Lauren, which feels a bit more interesting.
