I wouldn't use it, I don't like names that give a 'stamp' on the child. The meaning is nice, if it fits, but what if she turns out to be a tomboy?(of course I'm a hypocrite, because I like the name Allegra, to me that's less a word than Serenity though..)

I think it's perfectly possible to be both a tomboy and "serene."What I'd worry about is if the child were nervous and neurotic. :)
