Clark is like...clerk, Clair, Kent, Clarks (shoes), quarks, Lark, Grant, Scott, Kurt, Dean.
Spencer is like...dispenser, suspenders, spin, Tyler, Sawyer, Cooper, Carson, Parker, Dexter... Spencer Reid, Richard Spencer.
There's overlap stylewise, but Clark sounds like Superman pretending to be an average guy or maybe a salesman wearing nice shoes, while Spencer sounds like an average guy throwing stuff away or maybe a dweeby white supremacist. I'd use Clark over Spencer, no contest.

I love Spencer!
Clark. I like Clark.
Spencer sounds pretentious IMO, and distinctly 1990s. Reminds me of dispense/spend (money) and of Princess Di. Brothers Cameron, Brandon, Trevor.
Clark sounds much more casual or "country" or "hollywood" to me, and more mid-century, and more first-namey. Brothers Gordon, Dean, Glenn.

Spencer is better. Most last names aren't good as first names
Spencer, definitely. I already like it, and while Clark isn't bad, it just sounds too abrupt and distant for a first name.
