Audrey vs. Marilyn
Which name would you choose, and why? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I like Audrey - positive memories, plus I think it ages well. Marilyn loses by virtue of the fact that it sounds like a combination of "Mary" and "Lyn". I don't like either of these names, so Marilyn loses.

Marilyn! I just love the way it sounds; a lot brighter and more energetic than Audrey in my opinion. I love the glamour and style it has too.

Oh man, for the first time this is not an easy choice. They're both ugly names. Audrey is heavy and glum, and Marilyn sounds like some bored housewife hanging around in front of the ssoaps with her curlers in all day and chain-smoking.
But I guess I'd pick Audrey. At least the image is non-specific ugly.

Audrey: It's a beautiful and classic name. Marilyn on the other hand comes across as purely dated and just never captivated my interest. I never really cared for the sound it.

Marilyn. Audrey is too trendy now.

Marilyn. There are quite a few Audreys in our area and I find the name to be boring now. It's not a terrible name, just overused around here. Marilyn is pretty.

Audrey. I like Audrey. There aren't any names quite like Audrey, are there? I don't think so.
I don't think of Hepburn, if there's a Hollywood actor connection behind this question. I'm too young to think of her. I wouldn't think of Marilyn Monroe if I met a young Marilyn either (although I do if I encounter a girl or woman named Monroe).
Marilyn is nice, too, and I'd appreciate seeing it on a young person. But -lyn just doesn't thrill me. It's like -een, that way. I like some names that have it, but I never love them. If it were Marion vs Audrey, that'd be harder to decide.

Audrey is the only one I like of the two. I've never been a big fan of "combination" names like Marilyn, Marianne, etc.
