They both sound ugly and nicknamey to me, but I'll go with Hedy because that one sounds unapologetically ugly. Something about Lana seems forced or artificial to me.
With Svetlana vs Hedwig, I think Svetlana is prettier, but I'm fonder of Hedwig. Alana vs Hedwig would maybe be a tie.
