Hi Billina !!!My first associations with Temple are: Shirley Temple, Temple Bar (Dublin) and Shirley Temple drink. The link with temple (building) comes later. The vibe of Temple is mainly Hollywood and Irish with a bit of cherries. Also if we think about the temple, this name is not worse than many others...The origin of Cillian / Killian or Kirk is "church" so why not Temple for a girl? ^^It is cute!

Horrid.

Pretty darn stupid, frankly. I suppose Abigail shortens to Abbey! And I've heard of but never met a Shula ... And my first thought was that I read one book once - I think there are several in the series - that featured a female detective who was (a) an alcoholic and (b) known as Tempe or Tempy or something, but her actual name was Temperance. Don't think I finished the book.

Temple Grandinhttp://www.templegrandin.com/She immediately comes to mind. I actually read Miriam a picture book about her not long ago.Beyond on that association I'm not a fan. It comes across as Southern, trendy, or religious.

I've heard about Temple Grandin. This name popped up in the book I'm reading. A character mentioned Temple Bailey.

I saw her in the newspaper not too long ago ...She gave a talk at the Civic Center in Salisbury.
Her picture made her look like a homeless woman who'd gotten into some kid's dress-up box.

Wow.

Thankfully her clothing choices don't detract from her degrees, experiences, or awards.

Yes. Seconded. Ditto.

I once saw a documentary on her, if I remember correctly some of her clothing choices are related to her sensory issues. For what it's worth, while I wouldn't dress like her I think her style is pretty cool.

Is that Faulkner's Sanctuary? I've never actually read it, but I remember there being a character name Temple, who gets kidnapped and raped, so not really the best association.

No, it's "The Chaperone", by Laura Moriarty. It's about Louise Brooks. The chaperone who takes her to New York mentions Temple Bailey being one of her favorite authors.

Oh, I love Louise Brooks, should check it out!

Yeah, it's historical fiction. I read it before, but now I'm listening to the audiobook. I wanted something lighter, after the Romanov book.
