Whitney
Do you like Whitney? Is it dated to you? What kind of an image does it bring up?Do you find it 80s/90s? Would you put it in a category with Lindsay, Ashley, Courtney etc.?For some reason I find it more elegant and feminine even though it is a unisex surname name.

I do find it a bit dated. I would definitely put it with Courtney/Ashley, etc. However, I wouldn't recoil in horror if I met a little Whitney. I don't think it's gone as far as Bertha or Edna - if you like it, I think it still could be usable.

Hi Perrine !!!Whitney is totally linked with Whitney Houston and movie The Bodyguard (1992).Nothing wrong with it but not my cup of tea.

Because I watch ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and ‘Dancing With The Stars’, Witney Carson McAllister was first to come to mind, so I suppose I don’t entirely perceive the name as dated, though I don’t care for her spelling. On paper, there’s nothing about Whitney that particularly appeals to me, but I don’t have a strong adverse reaction to it either. I do think of it grouped with the other names you mentioned, for which I have a similar reaction.

I always did like Whitney. It's my SIL's name, Whitney Brooke. She was born in 1989.
Yeah, I think I do group it with those other names, but I like all of them a lot, except I can't stand Lindsey.
It's very 1980s, but unlike Lindsey and Ashley, it wasn't super popular, and like Ashley, I think it stayed current longer.
Anyway, everything eighties is back in style now, it seems.
