Madeline Vs. Margaret
Which do you prefer and what combos would you pair with these? Does one sound more "modern" than the other?

Madeline. It sounds more modern, and Margaret isn't ugly, but Peggy is as a nickname, but Margaret sounds classic and Biblical. Madeline looks more modern then Madeleine or Madelaine to me.
Madeline Elina
Madeline Clara
Madeline Salome
Madeline Isabel

I like Madeline Isabel.
The only reason Madeline would seem tired/modern to me (which it does) is that I associate it closely with Madison or "Maddy". Madeleine looks more classic to me, but I don't really like it and would rather see Adeline. I've only ever met a Maddalena, which struck me as old-fashioned by itself, and I liked it. She went by Maddy, though.
Margaret seems kind of like Elizabeth but more Catholic. Margot, Peggy, Megan. Eliza, Lizzy, Beth.
I'm gonna say...
Margaret Rowena
Madeline Aurelia

To my eys and ears, Madeline is tired and Margaret is timeless. Also, Madeline, Madeleine, Mad-Lynn ... too much choice and too much confusion.
Madeline is the spelling I prefer; it's a family name, though not one I'd like to perpetuate. Even the distant aunt whose name it was always went by her mn, May.
I like Margaret a lot, and don't mind Maggie and Peggy as nns. Meg does not appeal, and where I live the standard nn for Margaret is Margie, with the g as in gasp, not gin. That, I dislike.

I’m not a huge fan of either, but Madeline is not as dowdy and indeed it’s a bit more “modern “.
Madeline is more modern. Madeline Anne, Grace, Rose, Kate, Paige, Hope, Joy

I'm not crazy about either one, but I'd pick Madeline. It does sound a bit more current, or at least it's more popular lately than Margaret.
Pros:
Madeline is more youthful-sounding. Several well-known variant spellings if you want one. Maddie for a nn.
Cons: Maddies are a dime a dozen. The spelling variations mean you and Madeline will have to always spell out the name. Not many nn options besides Maddie.
Margaret:
pros: Really only one spelling; lots of nn options. not very popular right now, at least not compared with Madeline.
cons: not currently stylish; a lot of the nn options are more dated than Margaret itself is; the name has a harsh, teeth-grinding sound.

Madeline (pronounced -lynn). Margaret never sounded very nice to me even though I do like that it is a classic. Madeline seems more modern and a bit 90s dated but they are both classics. I just dislike Maddie.
Madeline Anna and Madeline Emma are both nice. Same with Margaret Emma and Margaret Anna. They are your favorites so I think they work well.

I do like the idea of having multiple M's in a combo. I like the combs Madeline Emma and Anna Madeline. I am not found of the nn Maddie, either.
