I really like Briar as a guilty pleasure. It has an interesting sound and imagery attached to it, but I would never really use it although I would love to meet one. My current user name is a combination of two guilty pleasures. I wouldn't use Raven either, but as a user name the corniness doesn't really matter.
I like foxes, but as a name Fox seems silly. When foxy is used to describe someone it is often accompanied by waggled eyebrows. *ugh*

Sounds like a modern pub trying to appear traditional. Slightly more successful than The Slug and Lettuce.
I like them both. I prefer Briar on a boy actually
Fox & Briar sounds like a pub...
Um I like Fox... I get that it's cheesy or whatever but it's cool and unlike most word names for boys it's not militant. I think a little boy would enjoy the name Fox.
Briar I just don't like tbh. The imagery is pretty but the sound is ugly the double r annoys me! It's like "rural" or "prior" I hate that ruhruh sound.
Speaking of which, you know how annoying people impersonate east Asians (specifically Chinese people) by saying nonsense like "wangchangdong" etc.... I've read that some east Asians say "ruhruhruh" when making fun of English speakers lol. I wonder if that's true!
edit: that being said, I'd be excited to know of a boy (or girl tbh) named Briar. It's interesting!

Hi Billina !!!
I think that Fox and Briar are perfect for boys!
Briar is not direcly a flower plus it is enough similar to Blair and Brian to be masculine without any problem.
Fox is masculine thanks to its look and sound. It has an energic, short sound and it is obviously an established surname so it could be honouring too. If you compare it with Renard (or even Zorro) you would see that it is not a stretch.
I like both names!

They sound like dogs. Also, together they remind me of Br'er Fox, one of Br'er Rabbit's friends.
I think Briar has a really ugly sound. Fox not so much, but it's just too much of a word to be a name.
