I can tolerate Nikki but the other two are pretty terrible. I’m shocked people are still naming their kids Gypsy, I thought it was more or less recognized as a slur by now.

I recently read a book called "Bury Me Standing, the Gypsies and Their Journey" and apparently they themselves call themselves Gypsies, even more so than they use the Romany/Roma term. I can understand why it would not be obvious that people shouldn't use Gypsy as a name.
I still think it makes a fairly good name for a horse.

Thanks for the reference, Roma people are a topic I’d like to know more about.
The definition here says it’s “sometimes pejorative” and I hear people treat it as a taboo word. A quick Wikipedia research didn’t really give definite answers.
As a child, there was a mare named Gypsy in my riding school, but it’s definitely not great on a person, slur or not.
