You asked what we really thought, and that movie is the one and only association I have with the name Damian. It wasn't a commentary on whether anyone should use the name, it's just what I personally think of.Besides, Gone with the Wind is old, but Scarlett still makes me think of Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara.

I would understand it if it was a super rare name or created for the character. For example, Reneesmee will always be a Twilight character even if it was made a hundred years ago.I did a Google search for Damian and The Omen isn't even on the first page!

The spelling used for "The Omen" is Damien. That's probably why it didn't come up in a Google search.

It wasn't a personal attack. That's just my association with the name. It probably helps that it sounds similar to "demon" (reinforcing the "Omen" image) and that I haven't ever met anyone named Damian. Anyway, what I happen to "really think" of the name doesn't have to be related to what comes up on Google.
