Love it, always have. I also like it as a nn for Desdemona, though that's more of a GP.

The sound/look itself just makes me think of 'moaning' and 'mono'- mononucleosis, monocultures, monocles...As a name, it reminds me of Monica and Ramona, both of which I like. Also reminds me of Desdemona, which I might use as a cat name eventually.So, it's alright but not high on my list, and I've never met anyone named it.

Unfortunately in my accent it sounds exactly the same as moaner. I literally can't pronounce them differently.

I like Mona, I think it's pleasant and understated and it reminds me of the moon and water for some reason. I also like Muna and Mone.
It's one of the few short names I like that doesn't feel at all perky/childlike, or like it's missing something.

Mona is a family name and has been as Mona Jane, Mona Elizabeth, Mona Grace, Mona Ivy and Mona Eilish. I quite like Mona
