I mean, it's also very popular right now, and has most always been a female name in the US too, as much as Evelyn.

Yeah, it's not that different in the sense of being historically unisex and now virtually all fem.
But Evelyn is way more popular than Vivian at the moment (10k named/year vs 3k approx).
About as different as Amelia vs Delilah.
And, most importantly, there's the fact that I *like* Vivian, for either, but not Evelyn at all.
