Re: Megan, Marjorie, Mindy
MINdy or MIENdy? Either way, it's flimsy and nicknamey.Megan, bizarrely, has pronunciation issues and has been viral as both MEGan and MEEgan, with the occasional MAYgan for comic relief. I used to like it, and I still like the MEGan version, but I'd never use it or recommend it any more.Marjorie is a good way of spelling a good name. I had a distant relative who was sometimes known as Marj or Marjie, which isn't the best, but it's a whole lot better than Maggie or - a South African special! - Marghie, with -gh- indicating a g sound, not a j. This is unfortunate, I suppose, because I do prefer Margaret to Marjorie, but since both are prone to nicknames it hardly matters. In this company, Marjorie wins hands down.
