I don't mind Carys for someone else, or for someone else's child. But that's as far as I go. Perhaps it sounds too close to Carissa, which is positively sugary.Carolyn didn't replace Caroline for long; I far prefer Caroline which is timeless and elegant. Carolyn is perhaps more playful and light-hearted, but the resemblance to Marilyn makes it seem dated and, well, less than exclusive.Chloe! It's never taken off where I live, so that isn't a factor. I love it for its sound, its look and its meaning; given enough daughters, I'd use it contentedly.
