I really like it. It reminds me instantly of that 2004 careless Avril Lavigne and hence feels very youthful to me. I would use it.

I don't like Avril. While April is far from my favourite name, it has a certain youthful charm that Avril lacks. It also sounds rather made up. In English, I'd pronounce it A-vril, and in French - A-VREEL.

AVril, for sure. It isn't bad exactly - much better than April - but it is dated. I'd be startled to meet a young one.

I really like it and have for a while, though it's not in my top 10 anymore. I'd consider it for my own child if my partner really liked it.av-ril.

I think it's unattractive however you say it. It looks like a brand name for painkiller for arthritis or PMS or something. Like Advil.I much, much prefer April. April is so soft and pretty, even if the p is a harder sound than the v.

Love it. It's been growing on me a lot lately, but I've always liked it. I pronounce it Av-ril, like Avril Lavigne.

Hi !!!I really like Avril. It is fresh, cheerful, bright with a simple meaning. It is both established and modern without being a madeup, a nickname, a surname or too androgynous. The only doubt: what is the difference between ay-vril and av-ril?I formally use AV-ril but actually my pronounciation is more like E-vreel.

Ay-vril is a long A sound. The first syllable rhymes with Hey or Play.Av-ril is a short A sound. The first syllable rhymes with Have.
