A good friend of mine (m) is names Sky which takes anyone meeting him some getting used to. Skye is much more common as a feminine name. I don't love Skylar/Skyler/Schuyler. Personally I agree that Skya, spelled this way, does seem incomplete or slang of some type.If I were to use this as a name I would spell it differently... Skaia, Skiah... I don't know.

It seems incomplete, like it should be Skyla.

I dislike it. Skye is quite nice but NMS. It's the name of one of my cats. I dislike Sky and Skylar (any spelling. This one is the most tolerable, on a boy).

better than skye

I think it could grow on me, but my first thought is 'skyr' (an Icelandic dairy product) and 'spyr' (swedish for vomiting)

It sound like a horrendous modern invention. I much prefer Skye, which is the name of a charming island.

Ludicrous. Sky and Skye are silly enough, but this is like a ski-jumper.

It actually didn’t occur to me at first that it was an elaboration on “Sky”. I read it with one syllable and thought it sounded like something an 80s surfer dude woukd say to mean “yes”.Pronounced the way I think you intended, it sounds like a brand name for yogurt or maxi pads. Like it went through a bunch of marketing and focus groups in order to find something with maximum appeal, but instead just ended up sounding contrived and phony.

Not really caring for it. I love Skye and Kaia, but not this.

Hi !!!It seems cutesy and stuffy.I much prefer Skye on a girl and Sky on a boy.

Not, in any way, an improvement over Sky or Skye. Despite being an elaboration, it feels somehow as though it is missing something.
