It's one of my favorite Indian names. I love how it sounds like what it means, like it sounds round and bright and feminine.I think it goes well with other soft, round-sounding Indian names like:Jyoti
Kishori
Lakshmi
Lalita
Shabnam
Supriya
Yamuna

I never heard it before, but I really like it. The sound and the meaning are cute.

It's pretty. Reminds me of Perdita, which I love.

I don't really like it much. For some reason, perhaps the "pur" syllable, I think it'd make a better name for a cat than for a human.

It's not pronounced like "purr" but like "poor". I don't know if that makes it better or worse in your estimation.

Thanks for telling me! While I don't think it so feline now, I'm still not that fond of the pronunciation, though the meaning is lovely.
