Re: Agnieszka and Langston

Agnieszka is interesting. I don't know if I like it, or not. I think I'll stick with boring old Agnes.
As a white person, I wouldn't use Langston. I'm not saying it's completely off limits, I just wouldn't feel comfortable using a name that is so tied to African American culture. I wouldn't feel like it was MY name to use. The name itself is handsome, though.
Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I have the exact same issue with Langston. That's why it's never appeared on my list. I was joking with my husband that we could make it especially awkward by naming our kid Miles Langston. neither Miles Davis nor Langston Hughes was very fond of white people, which is very understandable.
If you ever get the chance I recommend reading Uprooted

I have so much on my reading list, already. Is it a fantasy series/book?
It is. If I remember correctly you are not a Sci-Fi / Fantasy fan, though.
I'm honestly not sure how appealing the book would be to someone not into fantasy. Novik does such a good job with her female characters, part of the reason I love them so much.
