Luz
Luz entered the Portuguese top 100 in 2018. Do you like it? Do you know how it is pronounced in Portuguese? Would it work in an English speaking country?

I know several Luzs, most of whom are in California. It’s a beautiful name to me in every way and it definitely works/wears well.

It's a little too lispy-sounding to me (as an English speaker). I like the meaning, but I'd prefer it as a nn.

I don't like it much - it's a bit too short, and I prefer Lucy or Lucia. While I know the Spanish pronunciation is "looth", I'm afraid it'd be mispronounced as "looz" in English.

Hi Perrine !!!I pronounce Luz as LOOTH like in Spanish. I like this name. It is simple, it doesn't need any nickname plus it is a Marian name without being as heavy as Concepción or Dolores.

I think it would work in an English speaking country, but it would sound trendy, rather than reminding people of the connection to the Virgin Mary. I prefer Luzia.

I'm not a fan, but don't mind it as a middle name. Pronounced something like 'loosh' in European Portuguese, and 'loozh' in Brazilian Portuguese.
Portuguese can be quite a tricky language. :)
