Love the name. It's beautiful. I prefer the spelling Isabel. It looks much nicer. I also like Isobel.

I prefer the French Isabelle. I pronounce them the same. For some reason, Isabelle looks slightly classier to me.

I prefer Isabel, they definitely do give me different images. Isabel feels pretty and light and classic, where as Isabelle feels exaggerated and over the top and frilly.

I pronounce Isabel, Isabelle and Isobel all the same. Isabelle would be my choice because I would be more likely to use Belle as a nickname than Izzy and this spelling lends itself to that more obviously - though as mentioned above there is absolutely no variation in pronunciation. I see Isabel as more refined and Isabelle as frillier.

Isabel is my favourite Spanish/ Portuguese name. It's been a favourite of mine for over 20 years.
I think it's gorgeous. Isabelle is also pretty, but Isabel just seems more elegant, and less fussy. :)

I far prefer Isabel or Isobel, but as an English name I don't see the point of Isabelle. In English usage, it sounds exactly like Isabel and making it look French without sounding French is weird and unnecessary. The only different images I get are of the parents! I'd be more inclined to approve of Isabel's parents than of Isabelle's!Same applies to Bridget and Brigitte and, my worst but fairly standard where I live, the awful Bridgette!

I pronounce them the same. I like Isabel better. It looks neater to me. It's not one of my favorite names, probably because it sounds too much like a phrase to me (is a bell), but it's all right.

Isabel/ Isabelle is beautiful, queenly, and strong. I prefer the simpler, more clean cut Isabel to the frillier Isabelle.

I go through phases with these. I like Elizabeth in general, and this is a pleasant enough form. I'm not always keen on the 'belle' ending in names, but it's okay here, and 'Isa' is nice. don't pronounce them differently.Isabel feels more Spanish, Isabelle more French. Both are very feminine - Isabelle slightly more so, it has a princess-y vibe whereas Isabel is slightly more clipped. If I were to use the name, I would probably use Ysabel (as a middle name because the spelling is confusing). I wouldn't use any variant atm though because it's so popular, and soon it'll be awfully dated.

Hi Perrine !!!I pronounce Isabel EE-za-bel (English) and ee-sa-BHEL (Spanish)Isabelle ee-za-BELLI prefer Isabel because can work in two different languages. Isabelle is an old fave but I prefer others French names to it as Isabel is actually an old kind of French too. Both Isabel and Isabelle have blond hair and very dark blue eyes in my mind. The personality is different: Isabel is strong, energetic, indipendent while Isabelle seems cutesy and quite childish now. After that Isabelle is kind of stereotyped French name (I noticed it in many sources). I dislike this fact Before I used to love the -belle ending but now I just prefer simply Belle over Isabelle. Isabella (ee-za-BEL-la) is another thing. Isabella has wavy, long, dark hair and brown or green eyes. It is strange but Isabella gives me a better "Spanish" vibe than Isabel.
This because Isabella was used among royal families in southern Italy that were Spanish ones. The rank Is
1 Isabella 10/10
2 Isabel 8/10
3 Isabelle 6/10

I would pick Isabel over Isabelle. I think it’s a little more unique with its spelling. Either way it is a pretty sounding name.
