Someone on another forum I also posted this to didn't like Kenny either. I don't have a good explanation for this...he's listed as just Kenny somewhere else, so I assumed it wasn't short for Kenneth. Masha and Misha are Russian and my understanding is that they have a significantly smaller pool of widely used names and having similar nicknames is really common. Masha talks about her friends who are also named Masha, and then there's Dasha, Yasha, and Sasha.
