What do you think of the name Ezra? What are your associations? Positive, negative?
Also, what about Ezran as a variation? Do your associations / connotations change?

I like it. I don't know anyone named Ezra.
I really like it. It has a pleasant sound, and I like that it contains both a 'z' and an 'r.' I associate it with the Biblical scribe/priest/teacher, the actor Ezra Miller, and the artist Ezra Winter. I know of Ezra Pound, Ezra Cornell (founder of Cornell University), and Ezra Stiles (President of Yale and Co-founder of Brown University) but they aren't my top associations.
I've heard of Esdras as a variation, but Ezran is a new one. It isn't as nice as Ezra.

Ezra's too trendy for me right now, but I like the sound. I've never heard of Ezran; again, I like the sound, but I don't think I'd use it.
Hi !!!
Let's start with Ezran.
I saw it for the first time in the TV series: 'The Dragon Prince' (2018) a fantasy series where Ezran is a lovely, sweet little Prince with multicultural heritage.
The character is nice but not enough to make the name usable.
Ezra ...
I dislike it.
The problem is that in Italy the neofascist political party is called 'CasaPound'. As Ezra Pound is the major link with Ezra that I have so the tie with the party is too immediate.
It is a very negative link in my opinion. What a pity!

Yeah… that's my biggest problem with Ezra too. I always first think of Ezra Pound and immediately think of Nazis :(
Since I really can't get rid of that connotation for myself, it makes me wonder if Ezran is a possible alternative, or if it's too close to Ezra for it to not have that association.

I like both of them. The only problem is they're too short and the only nicknames I can think of (Easy & Ray) are almost as long!
I love Ezra!
And I also like Ezran.
If you like to nickname, it might be hard to nickname these, but I like them anyway.
