It's not the worst name ever but I certainly would never use it.

I love it and have for some time, but it’s more of a GP. It seems like a pretty high ideal to have to live up to, even more so than most other virtue names. Plus, Rick and Morty kind of ruined it a little for me. There’s also the unfortunate business about “unit” being a euphemism for penis, though that might not occur to many people.

I find it funny. No matter who they are or what they believe, everyone is at some point going to hold a belief that is divisive. It comes across as Pollyanna optimistic and will eventually be ironic.

It's more namey looking (maybe because of Unique, Serenity, Verity, Eu* names) than Unitarian, Status Quo, Hivemind, or Solidarity, so...that's in its favor.
I don't get positive vibes from it. I think it's somewhere on a scale between Obedience (ick) and Loyalty (neutral).
I'd rather see Una or Fidelia.

I know a genderless person who chose this as their name.
It was mentioned in a Rick and Morty episode a couple years ago. (The name of a character who was a hive-mind.) Wouldn't be surprised if that's behind the recent spike.
I think it's a fun, modern virtue name. It works surprisingly well- very namey. Ideological, yes, but so are all virtue names... right?

I think it works. It's similar to other virtue names like Temperance or Patience, so why not?

It's like Liberty and Fidelity; it feels much less like a virtue name than the name of a credit union or insurance company.

I just think: Mitford sister! Which is enough to put anyone off.
And, I can see the point of unity in some contexts, but there are plenty of people, in my country and out in the wider world, whom I would be highly reluctant to identify with; unity with them would not be a virtue in my view. So, other virtue names would work better for me: Clemency for instance. I'd also prefer Una, but not enugh to use.

Unity? Uhm..
It seems too wordy. The -ity part doesn't help. I can see it in a grammatical exercise.
As a given name... It is good in theory but also if I were anglophone I would choose other meanings. It has a nationalist vibe, which is a bit negative in my mind.
