My son is called Will and if he ever has a son, he will be called Liam.
I called my son Will rather than Bill because when I was growing up, and for many years before, every William was a Bill. I thought I was being different, but around that time, everyone who used William was turning away from Bill and turning towards Will, so I was really just part of a trend.
Will has grown on me but I don't know to what extent that's because it's my son's name. Whatever the reason, I now find it handsome, friendly, and down-to-earth.
