I've never cared for it. It just sounds whiny to me - I always want to draw it out in a childish way like "but ME-uhhhhh!" while stamping my foot. If that makes any sense.

That said, it's certainly not the worst name out there and I wouldn't think much of it one way or the other if I heard it on someone else.

It's just a possessive to me. I think it's awful.

It is better than other Maria / Mary diminutives but.. here in Italy is literally "my, mine" (it's trendy anyway).

I like it. It's like Ava, kinda - a little hollywoody and brassy, but basically able to be sweet and elegant.

Doesn't exactly add any information, does it? Yes, my daughter is my daughter ... surely almost anything would be more interesting. And I don't enjoy names that begin with ME eg Meagan or I eg Isla - they seem very egotistical. I would be surprised if a Mia had a dynamic personality or was talented in some interesting way: unfair, I know.
