Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson welcomed their third child: Birdie Mae joins Maxwell Drew (g) and Ace Knute.I think their newborn daughter got better names than her siblings: Birdie and Mae are still too cutesy for my taste and I prefer both as nicknames. Maxwell is nice but only as a masculine name and I only like Knute as a real viking's name. What do you think of Birdie Mae (and her siblings' names)?

I hate Birdie. I don't understand how anyone could think it's a beautiful name. I like Mae though, and Knut (this spelling). I would like Maxwell Drew as well, if she had been a he.

Birdie's a nick-name! don't do that to a new-born child!

Birdie sounds like a cutesy childhood pet name. I prefer Maxwell on a boy, but I would rather be a female Max than be called Birdie Mae. Ace Knute isn't my style, but its okay.

Hi !!!Ace knute is the only combo I can consider. But Ace is a nickname. After that they clash so much.Knute is the nicest of the list. I like it.

I read that this morning, and that Birdie Mae was born weighing ten pounds thirteen ounces. They should have called her Big Bird. Jesus, that is a monstrously huge baby. All the names suck big-time. Ace Knute sounds like "a snoot." Maxwell Drew is so aggressively a male name it's not even ambisexual. And Birdie Mae sounds like some hillbilly in a sunbonnet and long skinny legs and no shoes. Birdie Mae is in the privy now but she'll slop the hogs when she gets out.

I was really confused about your comment calling Maxwell Drew "not even ambisexual"... until I realized they were using it on their daughter.

My brother-in-law was 12lbs 6 ounces.

If I remember correctly, she mentioned in an interview (?) that they pronounce Knute the same way as Canute. So, his full name doesn't sound like "a snoot" (fortunately!).
