While I prefer
Alcyone
, I've been thinking a lot about
Halcyon
lately. I'm allured by its sleek timelessness, and, as you noted, I love that it encompasses birds and mythology and doubles as an elegant adjective.

I liked
Alcyone
/
Alkyone
more at first, but lately I've been preferring
Halcyon
. Do you pronounce
Alcyone
with a S or a K sound?

I pronounce
Alcyone
with a "S" sound and
Alkyone
with a "K" sound; I prefer the former, though it's unfaithful to the original Greek.
