I'm ambivalent about it. I used to really like it, but now I lean towards dislike.
I like the Ru- sound, the simplicity of the word, the image of the gem, the way it's both cute and complete.
I don't like the rhyme with booby, word association with rube, the "bling" aspect, and the possible sensual allusion to redness (like a lipstick color). I also think it wouldn't grow up that well - it seems liable to lose its cuteness and shine, like Amber or Carly.
So ... 6/10, which is better than most names, but a D minus if I'm naming my own baby.
