Re: Armenian names
in reply to a message by Felie
The only Armenian person I've ever met who had a "traditional" name was a woman named Naneh (nuh-NAY). Nane is a submitted name in the database, so I gather Naneh is a variant. As far as Armenian names I like... I do like:Adrine (ah-DREE-neh)
Aghavni (arh-HAV-nee; the "gh" is like a French "r")
Fenya
Lucine (though my instinct is to pronounce that as though it were French - Lusineh would be better for the Armenian loo-SEE-neh)
Narine (nah-REE-nay)
Syune (SYOO-nay)
Talin (tah-LEEN)
Zabel
&
Levon
Rudik
Seyran
Tahmaz / Tamaz
Taron (though I'm more familiar with this as a Welsh name)
Toros
Vahan
Vahram
Vardan
Zhirayr / JirairMy own name, in the Armenian alphabet, would be: Էրիկա (had to use a K instead of a C for transliteration).***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381
