My mind knows Sawyer rhymes with 'lawyer' and should be pronounced 'soy-yer'. My eyes see it and insist it's pronounced 's-awe-ya'. It's the same reason I can't get my head around Sean. which my eyes insist is pronounced 'seen'.
At least Sean can be spelt Shaun, which my eyes agree should be pronounced 'shawn'.
