Not a fan. I prefer Josie for Josephine and Josepha, and I prefer Annie for Joanna.

I like Jo or Josie on a girl, but not Joey. I am just generally annoyed by girls taking boy names, but Jo and Joe have separate spellings so it's okay. Plus I am a Little Women fan which probably helps :)

I love it!

I really don't care for it on a girl, even as a nickname.
I MUCH prefer it on a boy. Joe, Joseph or Jonah or what have you. And 'Josie' for a girl's nn.

Jo on a girl is very much like Joe on a guy: I picture somebody very down to earth, unpretentious and can-do, somebody you'd want to have in your lifeboat if you got shipwrecked.
Joey on both sexes has a totally different vibe. In a word, bratty.

I can't remember a time I didn't like Jo for either gender. It's one of the rare names that I consider charming because it is so boring. I've probably heard Jo more as part of a double name than as a NN for a more formal feminine, but I've seen it used enough either way that it'd seem very ordinary, on par with Ann.Joey seems more in the category of Zoey. They have an almost cartoonishly energetic, more modern vibe.

Jo is okay if used occasionally, but Joey is too Dawson's Creek for me. I'd prefer Josie or just the full names.

I don't like any boyish sounding names on girls, such as Willie, Tommie, Frankie, Johnnie etc. So it stands to reason I don't care for Jo or Joey, either. I'm not wild about any full name that Jo or Joey could be a nickname for, so at least it isn't a case of "I like the full name but wouldn't want her to be called...." as it is with Veronica / Ronnie.

This is weird, and I can't explain it. I like Joe very much indeed as a nn for a boy - Joel or Joseph. I dislike Joey in every shape or form. And in spite of Louisa May Alcott's best endeavours, I really cannot warm up to Jo for a girl. Or, indeed, to Joe for a girl. Josephine is quite nice, but I like Joseph/Joel too much to consider using it. Josepha is just alien to me. I love Joanna, like Joan a lot and can't stand Joanne. And what puts me off Joanna is the very real possibility of Jo as a nn! Which it routinely is for Joanne, of course.
