I like it if it's pronounced Gay-briella or Gah-briella. I like it somewhat less if it's Gab-riella (gab rhyme tab).I think Gabby isn't a bad nickname. I'd rather see Gabi (gah-bee or gay-bee), though.

I like Gabriel better (on a boy), its feminine version has never done anything for me. I want to like it, but it is just meh. Maybe because it always gets shortened to Gabby and I just don't think Gabby is very pretty.

It is alright, but Gabby isn't a nice nickname and really discounts the beauty of the name. I like Gabrielle, but that would also get shortened to Gabby.

I'm not sure I'd ever use Gabriella although I do like it. I don't despise Gabby as some do, however, I prefer other nns (Gabrie, Ellie, Ella).Having said all that, there's something about the name that seems somewhat light and airy. My middle dd adored the combo Gabriella Daisy when she was a teen. Now, not so much.If I were to use Gabriella, I'd pair it with Jane to bring Gabriella back down to earth.I've only known one Gabriela (from Puerto Rico) and two people named Gabrielle (with French surnames).

I hate it because I hate the "Gab" sound at the beginning.

Not a fan. I don't really mind Gabriel, I think - I've never met one - but there are so many teenage Gabriella and Gabrielle people in South Africa right now that it's become annoying. Anyway, I don't enjoy Gabby or Brielle or Bree, and the full version is long and clunky.

My cousin used this for her daughter. She is called a Abby and has gone by nothing else.

It's a nice and fairly decent name (nothing inherently wrong with it) but I much prefer Gabrielle.

I think I like Gabrielle better, but Gabriella is okay, too. Unlike Julia, Gabby wouldn't stop me from using it. In fact, it's my preferred nickname.

I like it, butI haaaaate Gabby. So I'd never use it, at least not as a first name.
