It's ludicrous. Word name it may be, but it's a feminine adjective in Latin. The masculine equivalent would be Novus. I cannot imagine why a male Nova could ever look like a good idea, but no doubt he would be unlikely to learn any Latin so he'd never know that he was a walking howler.

Rachel is also a word related to nature in Hebrew but people don't stick on their boys. This name has had a long history of use on females stretching back to Medieval times. I couldn't figure out why I was seeing this on boys lately but someone in an earlier thread mentioned it is in some Marvel comic.
