Re: Emmeline

I’ve always preferred the pronunciation “Emma-line” vs “emma-lyn” but I know most people will probably use the latter. It’s a nice name either way.

Never heard the latter, I have only ever heard Emma-line.
I say EM-ə-leen. I've never heard anyone say 'line' as 'lyn'.
I have only heard that pronunciation in continental Europe.
Actually, it'd depend on the name. In my accent...
Jacqueline would be "lyn"
Caroline, Rosaline, Madeline, Adaline would be "line".
Pauline, Marceline, Celine, Evangeline, Apolline, Angeline, Maybelline would be "leen".
I tend to default to "een" when I see *ine, though, and I've never met an Emmeline IRL. Don't know where you're from, but I assume that'd be common in the eastern US.
