Maude
I'm starting to like Maude a little bit, when I always hated it, before. WDYT?

I don't like it. Definitely an old lady name.
She could be a cougar like it the movie Harold and Maude:

It sounds like a name for a horse and not a race horse, more like a slow, plodding gray mare.
It is definitely not my style and as a child, I always found it fugly, but if I saw it on a child, I would find it refreshing.
My nephew dated a girl named Maudie and I know I've bumped into at least two other ones. I don't mind it. A long time ago I liked it, not so much now.
It's far better than being named Fuel.

I like it. I don't know if I love it as much as I used to, but I still like it a good amount.
There was a girl named Maude on a rival high school bowling team when I was in high school, so she'd be in her late twenties now. The people in this thread acting like it's child abuse are being overdramatic. I'd certainly rather be Maude than Britini (another girl I bowled against).

I hate Maude, i think it's so ugly, both in sound and look.
I HATE it with all my heart. I also HATE Ursula.
A girl with this name bullied me, so I have had some bad associatines with this name.

I'm not having kids. But no, it is NOT like child abuse. It's a name that people have.
That's how how feel about this name. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I'm not a morning person and I just do hate this name. Sorry, this is a name opinions board.
nm.

lmao "it's child abuse" is not an opinion though.
Quick, lie down in a quiet dark room with an ice-pack on your forehead and think calming thoughts. This shall pass. lol
Maude is a singularly ugly name, both in sound and look. Mawd. Mawed. Ugh.
Maude and Seth, the two ugliest nameth in all the wetht.

I used to hate it. Now I love it. In the 1980s, I went along with the "soft sound for girls names" crowd. Since then, I've learned to appreciate (some) hard-sounding girls names.
I love Maude - especially this spelling. I think it's elegant and I like its plainness. But I also used to think it was ugly and fusty
Maude sounds like a free spirit.
I like that it rhymes with bawd and odd and that it sounds the same as mod.
...if I'm remembering correctly, Maude was Death's only human friend in Death: A Life, which I liked when I read it. In Harold and Maude, Maude was an impish old lady who had an affair with a 19 year old and then killed herself on her 80th birthday. And, on a geeky youtube channel I used to watch, one of the main contributors was named Maude (or Maud, idk); she was a blonde Australian probably in her early 30s. I think those are the only times I've encountered the name.
I used to like it a lot. I still think it's kind of cute and appreciate the simplicity of it, but Bette and Lorne appeal to me more right now.
